Young Women's Business SUmMer Program July 6 - 11, 2025
What is it?
A week-long residential academic camp for rising female high school seniors to encourage and develop their leadership skills and expose them to business as a major and career path, with an emphasis on areas where women are underrepresented, including leadership. This builds on the Business Bridge Program. This program is a targeted recruiting and outreach effort which provides academic and developmental support. This on-campus program for rising high school seniors will take place on July 6-11, 2025.
Minerva is designed for high school junior (rising senior) girls, from anywhere, to learn about The University of Alabama, business as a major, and specifically about career paths where women are underrepresented. During the week, students will participate in informative sessions with Culverhouse College of Business faculty and staff, learn about career opportunities in business, build leadership and communication skills, complete a service project and take field trips for experiential learning. Additionally, students will experience campus life and connect with like-minded women interested in business.
Who is eligible?
Female students who are rising high school seniors and interested in learning about a career in business can apply to the program.
How much does the program cost?
The program costs $850 and includes the following: UA residential hall accommodations for five nights, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), classroom sessions with UA Culverhouse faculty, expert advice on applying to college (including seminars on admissions requirements, financial aid, and housing), field trips, service project, supplies, Minerva t-shirt, a closing banquet for students and parents, group photo, and certificate of completion.
